You can can configure the Firefox browser to use Tor without root.
- Start Tor:
- Configure Firefox to use Tor:
In the search bar, type about:config and accept the risk to continue
Type proxy in the search field
Enter: network.proxy.socks: 127.0.0.1, network.proxy.socks_port: 9050, network.proxy.socks_remote_dns: true, network.proxy.type: 1
If you want access to onion sites, please configure the following:
Type onion in the search field
Enter: network.dns.blockDotOnion: false, network.http.referer.hideOnionSource: true
Once configured, you can use Firefox almost like an analogue of Tor Browser.
